A two-day Seminar on the life,works and contributions of Amir Khusro
Chandigarh, June 6: A two-day Seminar on the life,works and contributions of Amir Khusro organized jointly by Haryana Urdu Akademi and Doordarshan Kindra, Chandigarh was inaugurated by HaryanaGovernor, Dr. A.R. Kidwai at Panchkula today. Speaking on the occasion Dr. Kidwai said that Amir Khusro was a Sufi Saint and a poet who was considered to be a symbol of finer human values and people of all faiths respected and loved him. He was the first poet of Khari Boli which later on developed into Urdu language. He said that Sufi Saint in all ages infused communal amity among the people.
