Rs.1058 crore for development of roads, bridges and buildings
CHANDIGARH, June 14 - Haryana Government has decided to reactivate its Roads and Bridges Corporation by appointing its full time Managing Director and spend about Rs.1058 crore on development of roads, bridges and buildings during the current financial year as against the allocation of Rs.695 crore for the same purpose during last financial year. On the suggestion of PWD Minister, Mr Venod Sharma,it was decided to constitute a committee to purchase latest equipment to test quality of material used to lay roads. Mr Venod Sharma also suggested that atleast five mobile units be set up in this regard by equipping vehicles with latest testing gadgets. TheMinister also stressed the need for strengthening of laboratories and getting accounts of the department audited by an outside agency.
