Rs.1058 crore for development of roads, bridges and buildings

CHANDIGARH, June 14 - Haryana Government has decided to reactivate its Roads and Bridges Corporation by appointing its full time Managing Director and spend about Rs.1058 crore on development of roads, bridges and buildings during the current financial year as against the allocation of Rs.695 crore for the same purpose during last financial year. On the suggestion of PWD Minister, Mr Venod Sharma,it was decided to constitute a committee to purchase latest equipment to test quality of material used to lay roads. Mr Venod Sharma also suggested that atleast five mobile units be set up in this regard by equipping vehicles with latest testing gadgets. TheMinister also stressed the need for strengthening of laboratories and getting accounts of the department audited by an outside agency.

100 percent sewerage system in all towns of Haryana

CHANDIGARH, June 14 - Haryana Government has decided to prepare a comprehensive plan for providing100 per cent sewerage system in all towns of the State. A decision to this effect was taken in a meeting presided over by Chief Minister, Mr. Bhupinder SinghHooda to review the functioning of the Public Health Department, here last evening. It was decided to seek funds for the implementation of this ambitious project either from the World Bankor any other financing agnecy. Mr. Hooda, while reviewing the status of sewerage system in towns expressed his concern over the present status as there were many towns which did not have sewerage system and there were also those where it was upto 50 per cent.He directed that apart from providing 100 percent sewerage system in all towns, the supply of drinking water should also be augmented on priority basis inrural as well as urban areas.

Haryana Government an important decision to link all the schools with power facility.

CHANDIGARH, June 14 - Haryana Government has decided to open 2000 Rajiv Gandhi Alternative Education Centres in the State under Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan so that no child between the age group of 6and 14 years is deprived of elementary education. This was stated by the Deputy Chairman, State Planning Board, Mr. Ranjit Singh after inaugurating newly constructed two rooms of a school under Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan at village Lehrana in district Sirsa today. He said that 116 such Centres had been opened in the district through which 3500 children were being provided education facilities. He said that in order to provide proper sitting arrangements to the students, the Government had decided to construct proper buildings for every school and arrange dual desks for the students of higher secondary schools in the State.The State government had taken an important decision to link all the schools of the State with power facility.

The Haryana Health Department will provide 20 ambulances at Community Health Centres

Chandigarh, June 14 - The Haryana Health Department will provide 20 ambulances at a cost of Rs. 1.21 crore to the Community Health Centres (CHCs) of the State. A spokesman of the Health Department disclosed that no user fee would be charged from the families of thepeople below the poverty line and the cost of the same would be borne by the department. He stated that these vehicles would be placed at the CHCs at Khol,Bargundha, Ellenabad, Jhoju Kalan, Jaun Purkhas,Mudlana, Ujana, Kalwa, Kharak Ramji, Punhana,Mirchpur, Assandh, Ghauraunda, Nagal, Sirohi Ahgar,Kiloi, Swan, Ballabhgarh and Sohna. He said that the recurring cost of these ambulances would be borne out of the Self Sustainable Scheme. He further added that the drivers for these vehicles would be contracted at the local level and they would bear all expenses of vehicle maintenance. He said that the POL and his remuneration would be paid out of the user fee.

Live grenade exploded by children in Hissar

Chandigarh, June 13 - The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr.Bhupinder Singh Hooda has announced to grant underRajiv Gandhi Insurance Security Scheme, Rs. one lakh each to the families of two adult pesons and Rs.50000 each to the families of two children who werekilled in a grenade explosion at village Bhojawas inHisar district today. He also announced to grant Rs.10000 each to the injured of the incident. Mr. Hooda directed the Deputy Commissioner, Hisar that free medical aid and other assistance should beprovided to the injured. The explosion took place when some children had brought live grenade from the Hisar firing range which exploded suddenly causing death of four persons and injuring five.

Haryana Value AddedTax Act, 2003 to be amend

CHANDIGARH, June 13 - Haryana Cabinet, today approved the proposal of the Excise and Taxation Department to change the qualifications for appointment and tenure of Chairman and members ofthe Haryana Tax Tribunal so as to broaden the qualification criteria for the same. It was decided that a person shall not qualify for appointment as Chairman of the Tribunal unless he hasbeen a judge of a High Court or an Advocate withminimum 15 years of practice or is or has been a Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary of the State Government or a Chartered Accountant with aminimum of 15 years of practice in a Tax Tribunal orhas completed at least three years as member of theTribunal. It was also decided that a person would not be qualified for appointment as a member of the tribunal unless he had been a District and Sessions Judge or an advocate with a minimum of 10 years of practice or is or has been an officer of the Excise and TaxationDepartment, Haryana having worked as Additional Exciseand Taxation Commissioner for at least three years oris a Chartered Accountant with a minimum of 10 years of practice. All members of the Tribunal would not be appointed from single category. A member of the Tribunal, other than the Chairman will hold office for a term of three years from the date on which he enters his office or until attains the age of 65 years, which ever is later. The Chairman would hold office for a term of three years from the date on which he enters his office or until he attains the age of 65 years, whichever would be earlier. The Cabinet also decided to promulgate an ordinance to amend certain provisions of the Haryana Value AddedTax Act, 2003 for these changes.

One lakh posts free for Haryana Unemployed Youth

CHANDIGARH, June 13 - Haryana Cabinet, which met underthe chairmanship of Chief Minister,Mr. Bhupinder SinghHooda, here today approved a scheme for re-employmentof the retrenched employees of the State. It has been decided that regular employees of Boards, Corporations and Cooperative Federations andother Public Undertakings, who have been retrencheddue to closure or restructuring of these organisationsbetween March 1, 2000 to March 1, 2005 will be considered for adjustment. However,only those wouldbe considered for adjustment who are less than or 55years of age as on May 18, 2006. The policy of government is based on the sound principle of Section 25-H of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947,which provides that such retrenched employees willhave preference over others. All vacancies of direct recruitment in Group C and Group D posts in Departments, Boards, Corporations, CooperativeFederations, State Public Sector Undertakings, UrbanLocal Bodies and Panchayati Raj Institutions will bekept aside for adjustment from amongst retrenched employees to be done in six months.

Rain water harvesting in Haryana

CHANDIGARH, June 12 – The Fatehabad district administration has decided to adopt a multi-pronged strategy to harness rain water under which apart from storing rain water in tanks and ponds and installing recharge tubewells, gardens would be laid under National Horticulture Mission. While stating this here today, an official spokesmansaid that a model has been prepared to harness rainwater at buildings which included mini secretariat,Government Women College, Bodia Khera, sub tehsil office, Bhunna, office of sub division Raita and all89 government senior schools. The rain water would bestored in huge water tanks at these complexes. Thisscheme would cost Rs. 80 lakh.

PassCertificates, Partial Achievements and ParticipatedCards in the offices of all the District Education Officers

Chandigarh, June 12- The Haryana School Education Board has decided to issue the Pass Certificates, Partial Achievements and Participated Cards in the offices of all the District Education Officers on June 14 & 15 of those regular students who had appeared in the Matriculation and Senior Secondary Examinations conducted during March 2006. While giving this information a spokesman of the Board said that the certificates and cards of both the academic and professional examinations would be distributed to the heads of all the concerned schools in the offices of all the District Education Officers by the employees of the Board. He further informed that the certificates would be distributed from 11am to 5pm on June 14 and from 9 am to 5pm on June 15. The spokesman said that the heads of all the Government and Recognised Institutes should collect the Pass Certificates, Partial Achievements andParticipated Cards of their regular students in the offices of all the District Education Officers during the prescribed schedule at all costs otherwise they would personally be liable for the non- collection of certificates. He also informed that the certificates of district Hisar and district Bhiwani would be distributed in the Government High School, HAU, Hisar and Government HighSchool, Bhiwani respectively.

The Chief Minister, who was talking to mediapersons here this evening, made it clear that the signing for multi-product SEZ in Haryana as been postponed to June 19 on the request of RILChairman, Mr Mukesh Ambani as he had returned from theUSA yesterday and he wanted some time to sign the MoU.He made it clear that there was no political motive ehind this delay in signing of the MoU. In reply to et another question the Chief Minister said that there was no question of reviewing this prestigious project.

Chandigarh, June 8 - Haryana Government has decided to institute an award named after Mahrishi Pantanjali to be awarded to best yoga teacher and give one promotion to Physical Training Istructors (PTIs) during their service and advertise 1500 vacancies of PTIs within one month so as to impart training in yoga to students in every school of the state. This was announced by the Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda while addressing a gathering of teachers at a five-day state level Yoga Training camp organised by the Education Department in the premises of Gurukul Kurukshetra in Kurukshetra today.

Haryana Housing Board would construct 1040 flats

CHANDIGARH, June 6 - Haryana Housing Board would construct 1040 flats of different categories including triple storeyed flats at sector 8 in Kurukshetra, sectors 9 and 52 in Gurgaon and houses in sector 7 of Bahadurgarh at a total cost of Rs.94.04crore. While stating this here today, a spokesman of theBoard said that 633 houses have been constructed fromApril 2005 to March 2006. As many as 2539 houses were being constructed at a cost of Rs. 174.76 crore at Ambala, Karnal, Panipat, Sonipat, Rohtak, Bahadurgarh,Faridabad and Gurgaon. He said that 1062 houses ofdifferent categories constructed at a cost of Rs.42.52 crore have been allotted to the beneficiariesfrom April 2005 to May 2006. Also, 241 houses, 26 residential plots and three commercial properties were sold by auction during the same period. These were valued at Rs. 20.06 crore. He said that the Board had constructed a total of60610 houses of different categories upto March 2006and out of these 71.78 per cent houses were for the categories of economically weaker sections and lower income group. He said that the Housing Board has made 33 percent reservation for women applicants as its committed totheir economic empowerment. He said that the Boardwas creating a land bank by arranging chunks of land and also under group housing schemes at various urban areas like Panchkula, Sonipat, Kurukshetra, Dharuhera,Sirsa, Gurgaon, Panipat, Bahadurgarh and Faridabad

Haryana Renewable Energy Development Agency plans of Rs. 3.75 crore for electrifying streets of 189

Chandigarh, June 4 - Haryana Renewable EnergyDevelopment Agency (HAREDA) has prepared an ambitiousplan of Rs. 3.75 crore for electrifying streets of 189villages of district Panchkula, Ambala andYamunanagar, having 50 per cent and more scheduledcastes population in their village. While stating this here, the Haryana Deputy ChiefMinister Mr. Chander Mohan said that out of the totalcost, Rs 1.35 crore had been sanctioned by theMinistry of Non Conventional Energy Sources and Rs.2.40 crore by Ministry of Social Justice andEmpowerment, Government of India. He said that thesanction of both these Ministries had already beenreceived for installation of 1489 solar based streetlights in these villages. The work of installation ofthese streets lights would be completed within nextsix months, he added.
